8 Must See Product Demos From NRF Big Show

The National Retail Federation's Annual Big Show is everything its name implies. For a half a week in January, New York's Javits Center is transformed into a retail technology metropolis teeming with futuristic solutions that would make any POS VAR swoon. VSR spent two days shuffling through the maze of booths to uncover some of the coolest new tools and products that would be relevant to SMB VARs that play in the Channel. While this is far from a complete list (there just wasn't enough time to get everyone on video), here are eight must-see product demos from NRF.

The digital signage giant has stepped into the tablet market with a new Windows-based touchcomputer featuring a rugged exterior and solid state drive. VSR takes a closer look at the latest tablet entering the Channel.

Panasonic expanded its Toughpad line of enterprise-grade tablets with the introduction of the Toughpad FZ-G1, a 10” tablet featuring Windows 8 Pro, and the availability of the Toughpad JT-B1, a 7” Android-powered unit.

These "Made for iPod/iPhone/iPad" certified mobile printers enable users to print receipts from a range of mobile devices using payment applications or sleds to process credit card payments.

Designed for retailers looking to implement a more customer-centric mobile POS model while preserving existing POS infrastructure, OmniLink solutions bridge the gap between traditional and mobile POS platforms.

The Customer Concierge series bridges a retailer’s in-store, online and mobile experiences, and connects customers to retail associates for immediate assistance via devices like the MC40 and SB1.

This new, certified, core payment solution can accommodate 7-to-10-inch tablets, such as the latest iPad with retina display for a growing number of use cases from kiosk to roaming retail applications.
