HP Swaps Executives; Cuts U.S. Jobs

Hewlett-Packard announced new leadership roles for a handful of Channel executives, including a switch up in the Printing and Personal Systems (PPS) group. Meanwhile, reports are coming in that HP is planning to cut an estimated 9,000 U.S. jobs as part of it’s restructuring plan to eliminate 27,000 positions worldwide.

Best Buy Acquires MSP White Glove Technologies

Best Buy has made a huge push into the business to business channel in recent months, with the purchase of mindSHIFT in late 2011 and its announcement that the Geek Squad would install and support solutions for VARs selling into the SMB space. It will be interesting to see how Best Buy's play to become an MSP will affect its VAR clients that already offer managed services.
