AirWatch Reveals Plans for Motorola Mobile Services Platform

By VSR Magazine

After announcing that it purchased Motorola Solutions' Mobility Services Platform (MSP) back in June, AirWatch (www.air-watch.com) is now shedding some light on what it plans to do with the platform, and what this means for MSP resellers. In a release, AirWatch stated that it is reinvigorating the research and development team to continue to develop product enhancements to both MSP and AirBEAM solutions, and it is extending the life of the solutions to make it easier for customers to transition to the AirWatch platform.

AirWatch said that it is dedicating the same developers who built the MSP and AirBEAM solutions to work with the current AirWatch R&D team of 450 people to create enhancements and drive innovation for the solutions. These experts will also develop and integrate the best-of-breed functionality into the AirWatch platform over time. AirWatch stated that it is committed to ongoing support of the current solutions for customers and a seamless migration to the AirWatch solution on their timeline.

“We are supporting MSP and AirBEAM because customers want to continue using the best solutions on the market and so they can leverage AirWatch to manage every mobile device that touches their organization,” stated Alan Dabbiere, chairman, AirWatch. “AirWatch started simplifying enterprise mobility in the rugged device space and we devote significant resources to ensure customers have the ability to provision, protect and manage Motorola and other rugged devices.”

AirWatch is also providing special, reduced pricing to MSP and AirBEAM customers to attend AirWatch Connect 2013, an enterprise mobility event taking place in Atlanta from Sept. 9-12 and in London from Oct. 14-16. Customers can receive more information about this announcement and the special pricing for AirWatch Connect by contacting ruggeddevices@air-watch.com.
