Barry Wise Memorial Fund Established

Industry friends of Barry Wise have expressed interest in donating to a memorial fund to assist his family with the expenses accrued through his extensive medical care. The "Barry Wise Memorial Fund" has been established in Barry's name and is now accepting donations. An anonymous donor has pledged to match contributions to Barry's Memorial Fund up to $20,000, up until February 15, 2013. With this, most donations will likely be doubled by this generous gesture.

At NRF's Big Show 2013 sock monkeys were purchased in honor of Barry, raising a total of $5,000 for the Retail Orphan Initiative (RetailROI). According to Greg Buzek, president of IHL Consulting and founder of RetailROI, the funds raised in Barry's name is enough to feed 125 children for a year. The organization is using the money for a kitchen in Honduras, which will feed 650 children and staff daily once complete.
