Brian Marcel

 

With over 25 years of hands-on, high-level senior corporate and entrepreneurial experience, Brian has grown the IBCS Group from a standing start in November 1988 to the No 1 enterprise mobility integrator in Central and Eastern Europe. Along the way he has made 4 millionaires and has a goal to make another 10 in the next 5 years.
Brian spotted an untapped region in the former Soviet bloc before the wall came down and found some potential entrepreneurs working in State run Companies, bought them out, set them up in business with shares and finance and best business practices. Today the IBCS Group is the No 1 in the region and the only real group of disparate cultures who really work together in harmony. His success is based on ownership, openness and trust, values that are shared across the 5 companies in Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Bulgaria. As Chairman of the Group he is responsible for the survival of the Group, the strategic vision, supplier relationships, and overseeing the leadership board to maximise shareholder value.

Brian also has a business that solves problems that up till now have proven insoluble for his clients. His targets are business leaders who need to think out of the box in a secure environment and in strict confidence, where conventional thinking and left brain analysis fails to produce results, where the link with the right brain can bring them in touch with their intuitive side so they can understand the hidden dynamics in their organisation, what really is going on with their dysfunctional team.

Brian is also part of the Young Enterprise Entrepreneur Graduate Programme where he mentors University Graduates in planning and running a business and is often called upon to judge the best proposals and business outcomes. He hopes by helping the young he can make a difference to their lives, as they are our future. This is his third year and he is looking forward to helping groups develop their business plans and motivate them to win. In 2007 his team won a week's challenge based on TV's The Apprentice and hopes to repeat that in 2009.

Brian is a Magistrate on the Ealing Bench and is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and IOP he is on the Board of AIM UK, the industry trade association, on the AIM Global European Leadership Council and a founder member of the prestigious AIDC 100 organisation, membership of which is by invitation to those who have made exceptional contributions to their industry.
